The Terrain Day

One day to know what AI actually means for your business, and to walk away holding the map instead of a sales pitch.

Most AI advice starts by selling you something. We start by mapping your operation, and telling you the truth about where a machine helps and where it would break what makes you good.

The Terrain Day is a full day of diagnostic work with both Chris and Andrea Greene, on your operation, producing a written Terrain Map: where you are ready for AI, where you are not, what to fix first, and a clear go, fix, or wait call on every opportunity we find. It is the fastest honest way to know what this moment asks of your business, and it is designed so you get real value whether or not we ever work together again.

what you leave with

The Terrain Map

before the day

The pre-work

A short intake the week before, so we arrive already knowing your operation rather than spending your Day getting oriented. We ask for a plain description of what you do, a rough sketch of who does what, whatever you already use to run the business, and the one or two things that made you pick up the phone. We also ask for read-only exports from the systems you name, so the Day runs on your real records instead of descriptions of them. Thirty minutes of your time, no preparation theater.

the day itself

How the Day runs

Morning

Walking the operation

We map how the business actually runs: where decisions get made, where information flows and where it sticks, which work depends on human judgment and which is genuinely mechanical. This is a structured conversation applied to your real business, not a survey.

Afternoon

Mapping the terrain

We turn what we found into the Map: the readiness read, the opportunity list, the not-yet list, and the first move. You are in the room for it, so you see the reasoning, not just the conclusions. Before we close, we record a handful of baseline numbers, so whatever you build next can prove what moved, and when your terrain invites it, we switch one small thing on live so you watch it work on your own business before we leave.

Format

In person or virtual

A full day at your operation, a day here in Crested Butte if you would rather step out of yours, or two half-days over video across a week. Both Chris and Andrea are present the whole time. One reads the operation, one reads the people, because a business is both.

The follow-up

The written Terrain Map is delivered within one week, in the same clean document you can hand to a partner, a manager, or a future buyer. A 30-day follow-up call is included, to see what moved and adjust the Map to what you have learned by then.

Forty-five minutes, no cost, no obligation. Tell us what you are running and what you are trying to solve. If a Terrain Day would earn its keep, we will say so. If it would not, we will say that too, and you will still leave with something you did not see before.
